I hear the taquila in Jalisco is alright…

Let the mountain of chores commence. First stop is Home Depot for toilet seats, epoxy, and gloves. Then I'm bringing bagels and coffee to the first responders who came by the house yesterday. Then it's off to the funeral home to make preparations. That brings me to 9am.

If you're not going the whole funeral and burial route and just doing cremation, you can go Santa Clara Funeral and Cremation on Winchester at Newhall. Much cheaper. You can also buy a casket there, and the variety of caskets is really astonishing.
Why epoxy? I would have figured garbage bags higher on the list.

I went to Alameda Funeral Home just down the parking lot from Jakes (near the railroad tracks). We used them for my dad and I was too lazy/overwhelemed to look at other options. They seemed nice enough and capable.
And they have onsite cremation services!

First yoga session done. Hike & boat ride done. Face stuffing done (was going to go easy but lunch was bbq shrimp & Thai style noodles - Chacala means place of shrimp or something like that so I’ve been shrimping a lot). I should do my taiji & qigong. Not going to read today or hammock. There’s a live salsa band tonight for dinner (like the whales are not for eating, neither is the salsa band, but there is ample salsa).
Saw more frolicking whales on the boat ride back from our guided hike. Also saw some cool goatherd dogs that clearly had a lot of wild dog in them. Saw a dead stingray too and regret not snapping a pic.
This vacation is flying by. Feels like we just got here and tomorrow, we already have to get our boarding passes.
Both my parents have the Neptune Society. Already bought and paid for. Neither want any sort of service.

Alameda is our traditional spot. This will be the third service there.

Finished updating the BFA exhibit database. That was a bit tedious. But Monday is a holiday.

Heading to the Cruz to drop off a car load of medical equipment. Then it will be a glorious day of sorting.

Check in the cranefly. He might need some of that. I’ve been promising to drop of my mom’s transport chair for a few months now and haven’t done it yet.
