Our neighbor just gifted DM some of his crop. It's rather large jar. Organic and locally grown (literally our backyard).
Too bad I don't smoke that much anymore...

On merc, the day I lost my drivers license, I was later looking around the various piles of dog stuff for the bolts to out the flight crates together. In a grooming bag, I found an old-school coin purse and in that was stashed $100!

Well, this is a weird one. Back in high school, I had two best friends outside of D00M. We were known as ‘the trinity’, me, Scott & Bruce.
Scott was the person who turned me on to the Grateful Dead. He went to UC Berkeley and joined Acacia frat. I’m still good friends with several of his frat bros. He was handsome, smart & confident - had to beat gals off with a stick. Then he got brain cancer. I saw him through some of that - driving him to treatments. He lost all his hair and his confidence. He became very reclusive. We all reached out to him when we could, occasionally dragging him out to party at a cabin in Tahoe or something like that; his frat bros were pretty druggy back then (they’ve settled down as have I).
Just prior to the pandemic, he ghosted everyone. We’ve all been trying to contact him since.
The trinity observed Friday the 13th as our special holiday which we called spoonfest - it spiraled out of some weird high school joke we made about passing this ‘holy’ aluminum ball from spoon to spoon - silly teenage stuff. But we’d always check in on Friday the 13th a, usually with a text.
Yesterday we got a reply.
We were thrilled and batted some texts back and forth only to eventually get this today:
“Sorry I'm not Scott. I have this number from the last 3 years. I thought this was a prank.”
Bruce is in Seattle - I saw him a few years ago when he visited to handle some family affairs. He has no attachment here anymore since his parents died and his sister moved away too. I’ll have to find an excuse to go back to Seattle soon as he is a dear friend.

And then a tornado touched down…
… in Scott’s Valley.
Flipped a few cars. I’m seeing some vids and pix on social media.
Merc ends tomorrow.

Yes I know. Everyone was mocking it. Including me.
Everyone except the good people of Scott’s Valley.

One more for the road.
Stacy was supposed to see Jennifer tonight. Yes that Jennifer. She’s a frequent client of Stacy’s. But Jennifer had to cancel at the last minute. She was rear ended and went to the ER with what was diagnosed as whiplash.
Her text to me “I got rear ended— whiplash. I used to think that was a fake thing, but now I know it’s real”
That’s 4 car crashes near me for this cycle.
Merc goes out of retro tomorrow. I’m looking forward to no more car crashes, computer crashes, tsunamis, tornados, dogs with explosive diarrhea, and especially no more heart attacks.
Only 3 mercnret periods in 2025
- March 14 to April 6

You will just be left with no justification for those things happening...

I'll blame the government.
And I'll be justified.
Like I always am.

As I was coming through the Santa Clarita valley, I saw massive multi-car wreck on the Northbound 5. There were at least 6 fire engines on the scene and multiple police cars. The two vehicles I spotted were burned down to the frame. If I was going North on the 5 rather than south, I'd probably still be stuck on the freeway.

Merc is not in rec, so that could not happen. There are no car accidents outside of merc n rec
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
