Same weekend as JRAD at the Fox. The one before Halloween so there will costuming. Plus my former editor for Den will be there. We ran into each other by chance as he was escaping the Bayfront bar because he had an early flight. We only had a short moment to chat. He’s working for Roddenberry now.

Now I gotta go to Houston...

Shaolin has reached out to me and will be covering my flight and hotel. Several monks from when I first went to Shaolin in the mid 90s will be present, including my master Decheng.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy about it. This year has been an insane amount of air travel for me, especially post-pandemic.

Srsly? I dunno, man. It’s been a wild year and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. Stacy says it’s because it’s a dragon year but the year of your birth is supposed to suck. It’s called Benmingnian (or something like that) in feng shui which essentially means ‘crappy year’

Finally, I have flight tix. It's been an ordeal. They were promised to me at the end of July. Last weekend whilst I was Worlds Away, they texted me the Expedia receipt, which had the itinerary but not the critical flight booking codes. I just got them just now and have added them to my new apps for United & American. Long flight there with a layover in Phoenix starting early in the morn from San Jo. Direct flight back. 

Hopefully there will be a room for me as promised. 

I'm excited to see my master again. Twice in one year! He's coming from China to TX, then here to CA so I'll be sorting stuff for him upon my return.

Also my Shaolin disciple brother Dieter will be there. He's the stop motion animator who just scored two mucinex ads:



And I thought my job was odd. 

Also a significant Shaolin brother who I've never met will be there. We've corresponded online and I'm excited to meet him in the flesh. 

I hear attendance is low. We shall see.
