I'm off today (It's dead day and I'm using up vacation) but heading in at 4 for a retirement party for my supervisor. I didn't know him very well - he's only been my supervisor for about a year - but hey, it's free cake.
Friyay! I have a telemeet with a YMAA employee who I just learned is leaving the company at the end of the year. Then I have a guest appearance of a podcast. Then tea with a friend. Then maybe dog parkin. Should be a good day.

I’ll go to the shop, then to H’s and we’ll scoot over to Oakland for some jazz.

Today is yoga and another distinguished artist performance. I didn’t get much work done yesterday because I started with banking and was quickly thwarted by my new bank. Since the pandemic, I hate banks.
Kenny Washington Quartet at The Sound Room in Oakland. KW is a vocalist with a beautiful voice and solid chops. Jazz standards, his own arrangements. His musicians are tight and they all have great chemistry. Piano, stand-up bass, and drums.
One the things I like about jazz musicians is how unassuming they can look. KW was wearing a nice black suit, but his band looked like an AP English teacher, an older Graphic Designer, and Christopher Lee.
The venue was good. Smallish, good sound, great food.
10/10 would recommend

Mellow day with only one scheduled final time, now over. Got some drawings into my sketchbook and caught up on scanning them for my database. Now having some tea, listening to Bitches Brew and Photoshopping the scans.
Our friend was going to join us for dinner but she got in a wreck this morning on 17, so that's off.

Oof. I feel that wreck. She wasn't the car on fire that shut it all down this morning, was she? That sounded rough (I'm on a lot of alerts for hwy17).
I survived Valley Fair, the last real mall standing in the Bay Area. It's expanding even. Lots of high end shops. Lots of way over dressed people. I almost gave up but found what I was looking for at the last posh store. 1 gift down. Maybe a dozen more to go...
Yuki also got groomed (forgot to mention that earlier). He's a handsome boi now. And he smells nice, at least for a few days...

Actually that car hit her from behind, then caught fire. She thinks that pushed her into the car in front, but she drives (IMO) too aggressively, and often tailgates, so she might have hit them first.
We did Santana Row last night for a couple of shirts for our nephews. It wasn't too crowded. I'm thinking we need to cut our holiday spending way back next year. Those kids make way more money than we do.
