Agreed. The Gentlemen was really his film. He’s found his place as a slimy villain.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
I think he turned around his scandalous bust to his advantage. He was even good in D&D.
