Ouch. Hope it’s not too pricey of a fix.
I hate not having proper IT support for my personal puters, especially because it’s my workstations. Thought my surface pro was dying a few months back but it recovered on its own. My work mac continues with its Apple obstinacy but that mostly because we don’t really get along. This morning it booted my downloads button off my favorites list in the finder - an unwarranted and annoying move. Took me a while to ‘intuit’ how to find it again and I needed the download for this morning’s meeting…

At the moment, it's $50. But it will be worth it if they can get the computer to stop crashing every hour.

That’s cheaper than an oil change. Hoping for a full affordable recovery.

Fingers crossed. I suspect they will just wipe everything and tell me to start over. I think the whole system was corrupted as there was a power outage during an upgrade.

I’m enjoying a lazy day, not going into the shop on a day off for the first time since August. The Stab Shack still beckons, but that isn’t until later. The Road Show for international fencing starts this weekend for El Jefe (the head coach) which means between now and Xmas he will only be in town for 1 weekend. That means more work for us non Jet-Setters.
Since it is an Olympic year, things will be even more fraught than usual. Mostly above my pay-grade, but stress is stress.

Are you the designated number 2 at M-Team or does that fall on other shoulders at this point?

I’m the Next Guy in Line since Dean departed, but from an organizational standpoint our #3 coach steps up to parcel out the daily lessons. He is good at it and very impartial (which could not be said of others who had had the duty in the past). My day job keeps my available time limited to time on the floor getting stabbed.
I will have to do more handling of the students (tournament post-mortems, pre-tournament prep, support our floor coach with a brooding, menacing presence, and drills/themes) and mostly keep them calm and positive.

Eclipse qigong, Kung Fu, JAH Med telemeet, maybe drop in on a friend’s open studio for this weekend’s art tour, dog parkn, and hope to squeeze in a little Shaolin work too.
Hmmm, today will be more hectic than anticipated.

Teachifying is done for the week, now just one more day of the shop and then a day off. Saturday will just be day job followed by evening with H. Sunday will be a long overdue North Beach crawl with H. Day-drinking, delivering a foil to my cobbler who will ship it to his daughter in the Philippines, then a surprise for H.

A surprise for H? Intriguing.
While D00M scrolling, I just read a discussion of why I should NOT do qigong during an eclipse and now I’m conflicted. I was also thinking I might do laundry but now I’m thinking of putting that off until Monday. Im also debating about getting dressed and walking Yuki to Verve. He gets a milk one treat and gets to pee and poop freely, and I get a fresh oat milk capp & a pastry.
Too many deviations this early on an eclipse Saturday morn…

Shouldn't this be in the moon gathering thread?
Thanks for the eclipse reminder. It had slipped my mind.
Is he going to put a ring on it?
