Sheltering in Place
It has always been the plan to sell Ranch Macbeth. It's low, well within the flood zone should climate change accelerate even faster. It used to be the last suburban tract before the marshes. But now they've built out more houses so it seems more secure even though it's no higher than sea level than before.

We bought it during a dip in the market and got it for a steal. It was a great place to raise Tara - safe neighborhood (overlooking one break-in), good school district (even though we sent her to private school all the way through), great access to Dumbo bridge (albeit one house from the 880 sound wall).

Our renters paid off our mortgage over the last decade. But it's time to let it go. I'm unattached to it now.

That was nice of your renters. It's very nice not having a mortgage payment. Now, if we could just get rid of the property taxes.

I’ll do the math on the day count later. Today I must sift through my 200+ emails, then head up to SF for night 1 of 3 Dead & Co shows - the end of their final tour.

I'm in Tahoe. We're up for the weekend visiting friends. Going to Vikingsholm today and probably just a walk in the woods and relaxing after that.

Still any snow at Tahoe? We had some in Yose…

Still not up to math. Maybe I’ll abandon the count. Maybe not.

Today - Kung Fu (maybe) and some email sorting (personal, not work) then back up for the penultimate dead & co show.

Heading to Saratoga for my mother's 90th birthday. The only thing I would like to do less is DIY trepanning.

We're at Meyers, just outside Southshore. Still some snow on higher peaks, even in sunny areas. Lots of dead trees where the fire came through. The nearby river (I don't know the name) was high and I found a couple of nice pieces of quartz and sunburned my feet.

Yesterday I took H to SFO so she can start her Summer Adventure. Had dinner last night with visiting fencers. Today is working at the shop, seeing off the visiting fencers, being visited by ex-fencers, starting inventory at the shop, begin packing for EuroLand

Paris was burning recently, but rioting there is a national pastime. H goes to Paris after I come back home to the coldest Summer I can remember. She is currently on a train to Frankfurt and then connecting to Leipzig.

Once she reaches Leipzig, her plans will be UNLEASHED!

It’s all fire. Fire everywhere. This is when we burn.

Today I should attend to some chores, maybe yoga? But then I head up to the final show of Dead & Co. I’m meeting friends who live a few blocks from the park for an early dinner and libations. The final show will be glorious. Rumors are flying about guests. Dylan? He’s been covering a lot of Dead tunes lately as I’ve shared a few on unusual covers. Neil? He played Saturday night at the Greek and they played a bit of him during the intermission. I’m hoping for Taylor Swift or Black Pink, but would settle for Phil.
