Ya know, I'd like one day - just one fucking day - when my mom tribulations don't come crashing into my life at some random moment (usually right when I'm relaxing).
Right after I finished my screener, I get a text from the manager at her care home that she's going to run out of her rx meds. Her doc upped her dosage, so what she has on hand will run out on Sunday. I'm booked tightly - extremely tightly - until Tuesday afternoon when I planned to visit. There was a moment of scramble as I tried to poke a hole in my calendar to get to svale, but then the manager said she sorted a solution where she could borrow some from one of the other patients, or I could call the pharmacy and authorize her to pick up my mom's meds. She's great - justifies the exorbitant cost of housing her there. She really seems to care. I'm grateful.

I imagine they are picking up meds for most of their patients. Meds management was a huge relief for me - both from cutting out pharmacy visits and worrying about my mom forgetting to take them.
On Thursday I remembered I left my phone in the garage while I was shutting the door and stopped short. Got my finger between the door and the jamb. Bottom half of the nail is black. It hurt to press down with that finger Friday morning, but now much better.

Ouch. I hit my head on a low branch during a short hike in Pogonip yesterday. Yuki was running amuck and I turned to look right when I was under the branch. It hurt at the time. Now I realize there's a small abrasion - fortunately I was wearing a hat so it's not so bad.
I'm currently on hold with my mom's pharmacy hoping to set up med management for her caretaker. This will be such a relief when it's in place, but I'm not there yet - been 20 mins and counting...
And they cut me off.
Fuckers. I gotta go to Buck's funeral now...

I did that exact thing with Hazel once and got an ugly cut on my forehead. You got lucky.
I remember going to the pharmacy with a form for that - if you can get them on the phone ask for that.

Good tip on that form. Thanks.
Merc confines to pummel my street. My backyard neighbor, who lives in the granny unit right behind our bungalow, just lost his mom. She had dementia and his dad was her caretaker in NC. But she wandered off. When she was found, she was rushed to the ER, but it was too late.
I was told this at Buck’s paddle out.

My backyard neighbor is freaking out - screaming NO NO NO in his bedroom and throwing stuff.
I don't know what to do...
It's quiet now. That was an intense outburst but who can blame him? I have yet to check in with him.
I just want to do my work today. I can't take too much more of this madness in my 'hood. It's hitting way too close to home. It fucking is home.
Jen is here now. Miles is in back, sitting with the dogs, looking pretty bent out of shape. He's going through a lot right now. Jen is his mom. Matt is his dad. Matt and Miles live behind us. Jen comes by a lot. It's amicable. Glad she's here.
I need to step into my next telemeeting now.

Jen and I had a good long chat. Miles is going through finals, plus has a nagging undiagnosable medical condition, and just lost his grandma in such a nightmarish way. I feel for him. He’s a little older than Tara. Jen and Miles are headed up to Jen’s parents’ place in Bend, OR next week to get away. I told Jen I’d water her garden. She gave us some lovely fresh green garlic. They are good neighbors, good people. I can’t imagine what they’re going through.
My neighbor’s son to the right of us hit a deer on 17. No major damage to the car, just a bent fender.
Tomorrow we have to move all our cars off our street by 7am. Construction is planned until Friday. The same thing happened when Buck died. The construction continues.
And there was the cancelled Elsa Pataki interview today.
I surrender to Merc’s retrograde. It’ll probably kick me in the teeth a few more times but it won this cycle. June 2 cannot come fast enough.

Today's svale > pharmacy > tiger claw > Kaiser > mom > market > my mom’s house went off like a careening rollercoaster, but I had anticipated that. I was stalled out by an accident on hwy17 which ate up the Merc-cushion I built in by leaving early. Then the pharmacy went smoothly (no paperwork required there KB) but they just got new credit card readers and they were off to a buggy start. More time lost. TC went ok - good to see Jonny & G2 and catch up. G2 is off to 3 weeks in France with a bunch of scholars and professors. What they must think of her. I set my alarm so I wouldn't be late to Kaiser but then took a wrong turn which got me screaming into my appt just on time. My doc put me on a new med - daily pill #4. While I was waiting for the Rx to get filled, I got pfizer boosted. I stopped by Daiso at the Fremont hub to find this particular Japanese product I like but they no longer carry it - it's like a wet nap for your armpits - great for festival camping when showers are athlete's foot (and much worse) petri dishes. Then over to my mom's which went ok. The to Daiso Cupertino to double check, but no luck. But it's next to Marukai is next door and it's my new fav Japanese market. They had those cleansing deodorant sheets. Honestly, I don't know what they're called in Japanese. They didn't have any of the brands I know, but the one that they had was called Samourai, so that's a win.
I'm exhausted now and waiting for the drugs to kick in.
Everything is fine.

I guess I did hit my head significantly. I found a small scab after washing my hair last night. I idly picked at it and it bled when it came off - not a lot but enough to redden all my fingertips. I can feel another divot in my carapace now. I shouldn't stick my finger back in there anymore because it'll bleed again.

I was getting a little itchy for my streaming services by Wednesday night. The TV continued to tell me I need to turn WiFi on my TV. But the beauty of the LG TV is that there is no button to do that. tQ went to the inter webs for a solution. She found a very popular solutions where I had to pull off a panel in the back and start straightening wires. It looked complicated. I saw my plans for Thursday in front of me. There was another solution that many websites offered. It seemed to silly to work. Basically, I was to turn my modem off and then back on. Crazy talk.
Worked like a charm. I watched Swarm.

Tassajara closed for summer canceling Stacy’s trip there to do massage next week and a trip we bought for Tara as a gift.
