Hoping for relief for your mom and for you.

Just had my easter visit. Tara is there now - only one at a time so we must take turns. The bunnies are gone ironically.
My mom seems as good as to be expected. PT & OT hasn’t yet begun with the holiday. I’ll connect with her case manager later this week. It’s weird being back here for the fourth time. The staff is really good and I’m grateful of that. I forgot that this place is decorated with terrible painting of Paris - perhaps that was my subconscious triggering my Emily in Paris binge.

Would not have figured you for an Emily in Paris watcher. I watched it too. (The funniest thing I saw written about it was calling it "ambient tv" - something to have on while you looked at social media etc.)
Hopefully she will do the PT. My mom always refused. Once she tried to hit the therapist.

She’s been through PT 2d already and was diligently committed to it. The question is whether she can do it. She’ll do it if she can. She’s remarkably tough that way.

Well that's good. Fingers crossed.

I would think hitting the therapist would count as some sort of PT.

Spent most of today at my mom's banks.
When I got Power of Attorney, Wells Fargo fucked up. They put me on my mom's trust but not her checking - which is the key one right now. Struggling to sort it. Their saying my mom has to come in to sign before a notary, which we did already, and in lieu of that, I need to get doctor & lawyer letters and redo the notary signing. I need to access her checking ASAP - the bills are coming in. Fuck Wells Fargo. My mom won't be discharged on Friday. They will re-eval her then and perhaps discharge her at some random time next week. This holding pattern is a new level of hell. Headed to see my mom now.

I never did the power of attorney on the bank account - my mom made me a co-owner (or is it co-signer?) on the account, so that made me an owner of the account and I could do anything. I ordered checks with both of our names on them. That might be easier than doing the PoA.

My sister is on all my mother's accounts. I believe we all have Power of Attorney on her accounts.

You can get a notary to come out to her.

I'll be looking into getting my name on her checking account next. My mom can still sign checks - it just means I need to get her to do that.
There are more immediate issues that need to be sorted. My mom will be discharged on Monday. I've been in dialog with the home where I'm hoping to place her, and the manager has approved her after an eval today. The issue is that the hospital bed might not make it there by Monday - it's snarled in insurance. Note that I have yet to sign contracts and such for this place, so there's still plenty more that might go afoul. So fucking stressful

The manager lives on the property. I did look at Sunrise and register with A Place for Mom at your suggestion. Sunrise almost worked but the price was exorbitant. The APfM rep promised me all sorts of resources but then never contacted me again. I wound up working with a private agent recommended by MVHC. He was very helpful and through him I found this Svale place.
