Sheltering in Place
Bummer about the scanner. Is there any workaround?

748: Before the fall, Tara had planned to visit my mom and dye eggs. It was their tradition every year until Tara left for college so she made special plans this year. My mom loves Easter - the flowers and colors. Stacy booked clients so was going to get dropped off in svale to join them.

Now I’m still getting dropped off with Yuki and meeting Tara, Bri, & Bottles there. Tara and I will visit my mom at the care facility, but due to covid protocols, we can only visit one at a time, limited to 30 mins. They want to do laundry and IKEA too. I’ll work too. Now I’m constantly working whenever I’m not at the dog park or escaping into some dumb tv to make up for the time spent for my mom.

I have another scanner that is part of an epson all-in-one. I used that. I was thinking that the dedicated scanner would give better quality. But the all-in-one(copier, scanner, printer) is doing okay. I was able to scan about 22 pages yesterday. After I spend the morning weed whacking the yard, I'll do more scanning this afternoon.

Just wanted to say that.

BTW, I felt terrible yesterday - so burnt out and as if I was coming down with something. By night fall, my left nostril was congested, my left adenoid was sore, I was a bit achy and thinking I might be getting a fever. I can not get sick now. I dosed heavy on garlic, zinc, & elderberry, and crashed early. All night I had nightmares about catching covid. I feel better this morning. Both nostrils clear, throat okay, generally normal only my tinnitus is a bit high.

Also worthy of note, today is Bicycle day, but the only thing I'm dosing on will be more garlic, zinc & elderberry.

751: We’ll today started with a Covid test. Had a horrid night - achy, coughing, sweaty - exacerbated by thoughts of Covid. Nightmares really. That cold took hold. I felt ok most of yesterday - just a bit sniffly - but the hammer dropped last night.

So I’m cancelling my second visit to my mom today because I am sick. I actually feel ok, a bit headachy and I get bursts of coughing. Hope I can heal by Saturday because that’s the CHSA opening. Just going to put a few things in place here at my mom’s and go home.

A locksmith is coming for our back door at the bungalow and a chair is being delivered today. Beyond that, I’m just going to hunker down and rest, work on some simple tasks.

Covid test was negative, thankfully

Woohoo.

One of The Queen's friends is coming for a visit in two weeks and the friend is the primary caregiver for a severely immunocompromised child. He is one of a handful of people in the US whose bones don't form properly. So, we are going to be extra cautious for next two weeks. I'd hate to get the 'Rona and then give it to her.

I must say that 15 min wait on my at-home covid test was stressful.

Haven't been sick for the entire pandemic. It still sucks. This is an odd one - body aches, headaches, occasional coughing or sneezing fits, but no sore throat and my sinus are generally clear. Sleepy. Then there's moments when I don't feel sick at all. Strange. The presentation was so unusual that I was thinking 'crap...this must be covid' all night.

I'm home now and working from in bed on my laptop. The new chair arrived already and I was sitting in it until Stacy banished me from the front room. She'll be here for the locksmith so I can just rest and hide. I'm quarantined to the back of the bungalow.

Did you take more than one test? There are false negatives (but no, or damn few, false positives). My cold presented like a classic head cold, though.

The covid, when it came on, felt weird. Def some fever, my lower back really hurt, then over all achy.

Only took one and am going with that. I’ll take another if it persists.

Don’t put THE FEAR back in me. Already grappling with enough of that in my life right now.

These coughing fits are ridiculous. I think I bruised my ribs. Apart from that and some infrequent body aches, I feel I’m improving. No more temperature.

The cold had me coughing so much my muscles got sore. That cold is not messing around.
