Who knew (besides DM) that Toshiro Mifune was born on April Fool's Day?  Seems kind of appropriate.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Criterion channel seems to be aware of it.  No doubt DM blabbed it to them.

He was born 100 years ago.  Kurosawa once said, “The ordinary Japanese actor might need ten feet of film to get across an impression. Toshiro Mifune needed only three feet.”

Kurosawa used him in 16 films.  Other directors used him as well.  It would take me a long while to watch all the Mifune films that criterion has up right now.

Who knew that Apr 1 (Besides DM, of course) knew it was Toshiro Mifune's Birthday!

Probably time to rewatch Hell in the Pacific or The Challenge.
