my mom
They did talk yesterday at last.

I'm more than happy to get someone else to talk to my mother about things. It relieves the pressure on the rest of us. Not a problem at all.

Although I don't think i quite convinced your friend that my mother doesn't text or email. She still wanted my mother's email address.

Glad it worked out. I was thinking it would be mutually beneficial. Tiffany can use the research and your mom can show off her collection to some one who would appreciate it.

You should teach your mom how to Facebook. That would be fun to read about here.

Don't get me started on "teaching my mom to use the computer" It gets ugly. Quickly.

Yeah, likewise. My mom always asks 'what are people always looking at on their phones?' and I show her something on mine and immediately she touches the screen or something to make it disappear.

I also treated it with some calamine, only to learn that she's allergic to it, which she remembered after it got itchy. My mom has sensitive skin that reacts to soaps and lotions.

One of my cousins is a seasonal landscaper (he drives a snow plow in the not-season). He says to put toothpaste on a bee sting...

When I was at SJSU, I worked in the Special Collections library (with a certain Craig van der Voorhen). We worked in the back of the main collection was was mostly any books written by faculty. Also in the collection was the Beethoven Center which was a single room on the top floor of the library frequented (very infrequently) by scholars and the Steinbeck Center. Since my tenure as a student at SJSU, they tore down our library and built a bigger one, so I have no idea what happened to any of the collections, but I presume they got much larger dedicated spaces.

If she wants to talk Steinbeck, there are probably folks still there that would love to chat.

I was helping out DM's friend, not my mother. My mother knows all those people. As a matter of fact she's at war with the woman in charge of the SJSU Steinbeck collection. That woman gave a bad review of one of my mother's books.

I’ll try to get her new glasses. Additionally, she believes she deleted all her money and got in some sort of kerfuffle with her investment banker so I’ll have to clear that up. And then there’s the growing beehive which I’m not sure what to do about. She wants me to douse it with bug killer but that never works. I’m rather worried about her. Her thinking is getting more erratic and paranoid.

My mom just called me from her neighbor's home. There was some problem with her cell phone recharging, and she tied that to her financial advisor with some Wells Fargo accounts and the fear that she's being 'deleted'. I assured her that it was unrelated. I talked to her advisor last week. His dad is 95 so he's very sympathetic to my mom's eccentricities now. I have a call scheduled with a new advisor to apply power of attorney to these accounts.

My mom's neighbor walked my mom back home and checked her phone charger. There does seem to be some problem with it, but it's new - I just replaced it for her recently. Damn phone.

This deletion paranoia is troublesome. Maybe I was too quick to assume she survived her fall so easily. She claims she didn't lose consciousness but now I'm wondering if she lied. I had just received my booster shot before last week's visit so I wasn't on the top of my game and now regret not looking at her injuries more closely. I'm wondering what her caretakers are seeing.

She hasn't been watching Murder She Wrote (I think the schedule changed) but she still watches the rest, plus she's been into Family Feud and I've had it with Steve Harvey.

She's still very dedicated to Ellen.

X-rays and CT done. Now waiting for results…

She fell this morning but wasn’t feeling too bad so she didn’t call anyone until she called me hours later. I was just about an hour away from heading over.

Only her hip hurts but that pain has been intensifying.

No visible fractures. Yay! There’s a chance that her osteoporosis is obscuring some fracture so we’ll have to go back next week for a check up. Her hip is very sore - they gave her some topical lidocaine patches - same as what she used when she broke her back.

4+ hours in urgent care…

I’m done for tonight.
