Lots of stars last night
Not quite as cold this morning
But still frosty roofs

Hadn't planned on a haiku. I was going to post the first two lines as a sentence with a semicolon in the middle, and thought that DM would say it's like a poem, so I counted the syllables and was almost there. The third line could be better. I'm no Basho.

Woken from a sound sleep by an amber alert. First thought was Russia dropped a bomb.

705: headed to sf Chinatown - we booked a night at a hotel in the presidio.

That alert woke me up too. I thought maybe it had actually rained and there was flooding somewhere. The alarm went off a few minutes later anyway.

Well, that blows.

Enjoy your Presidio Stay-Cay, Birthday Boy.

We used to go to the Presidio to the Officer's Club quite often when it was still military with a friend of my Aunt Ida's named Frank Bachelor. No one was ever quite sure what he did for the military and he was pretty tight lipped about it.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Top recommendations to the Presidio Inn. We have a commanding view of the ggb and Yuki luvs it here.

TG and I camped on the Presidio in Scouts. Where's the inn? Near the Disney museum and whatnot?

You can still camp there, but it's for larger group camping: https://www.presidio.gov/lodging/rob-hill-campground

If you're in the Presidio, the Officer's Club across from ILM makes great cocktails and has decent food. IIRC, the back patio was dog friendly.

I thought the Officer's Club had become the Presidio Inn.....?

The Inn at the Presidio is the former bachelors housing on the opposite corner of the field where the Disney museum is. It’s dog friendly and our room had a commanding view of the bay. Comp breakfast and wine & cheese at 5, all served to our room because of Covid.
