Sheltering in Place
Did any of you ever get a treatment from LB? I didn’t. Couldn’t trust him enough to be that prone in his presence. Too much water under the bridge with us to know what might be lurking under the surface.

439: Kung Fu practice (not CW). I may do a spot of work today despite my efforts to take Saturdays off for a healthier work week rhythm. I was in a good writing groove yesterday and hope to keep up the momentum, plus Stacy has clients tonight so I’m left on my own.

LCF got some treatment from LB at your recommendation.  Don't recall what for.  Afterwards, she asked you why you didn't go to him.  You said that the two of you had too great a history of practical jokes that there was a trust issue.

LCF did say that LB checked her tongue, and when she asked why, he explained that it can express a whole lot of ailments and is a good indicator of overall health.

When LB passed, my tongue started having all kinds of problems.  I had to wonder...

I’m surprised she didn’t know about tongue diagnosis. That and pulsing are fundamental to TCM.

440: Stacy is going to a beach yoga session and then has clients so it’s just me & Yukz. Might go to the beach and gaze at Monterey. Might write a bit. Might not.

441: Stacy is planning an early morning hike in Nisene to the advocate tree. I might do that. I might write for Den. I cleared my weekly goal for ymaa yesterday and have nothing else pressing. Maybe I need to honor Memorial Day somehow.

We forewent the advocate tree in favor of greyhound rock beach which was very rewarding because we beat the tourist onslaught. Didn’t write but nibbled at some odd tasks.

442: Got to head over to svale early for my mom’s dentist appt. I hate her dentist. Worst mansplaner ever and she’s a woman. I think she’s used to talking to people who can’t twlk back because she’s got their mouths full of instruments.

My mom’s dental work is extensive. Basically she’s losing her teeth. Her dentist is building her a new denture for her upper teeth, one that is designed so new teeth can be added as her real teeth fail. She has no lower teeth and uses a denture for that already. That process will take three more sessions.

443: There’s my ymaa meeting first thing then I have a ton of chores for my mom. Her heater is having issues (she claims she needs it in June) and Ive fixed it before but also failed to do so because it doesn’t have a pilot and there’s a process to restart it that doesn’t always work. She was nagging me about it all yesterday as I was struggling to make deadlines before my east coast coworkers were done for the day. It was frustrating because she wasn't hearing me and when Ken raise my voice to get partner her deafness, she’d complain I was shouting. Plus I need to sort a few things with her regarding Tara’s graduation. Been a challenging week for mom. Eager to finish here and go home.

444: 3 YMAA telemeets, Kung Fu (show & practice), plus some Telly dropped I want to see today. A rather full day.

I’m just keeping count here until things open up again.

I'm off today. We were going to go to Tahoe and visit a friend, but she had to have surgery. We considered a trip to Santa Barbara, but lodging was expensive. We might go to Costco, and I need to pop in to work to print a shipping label for a CD I sold on eBay.

Tahoe, Santa Barbara, Costco...they all sound expensive

446: Kung Fu then there's a birthday banquet for my cousin's granddaughter in San Jose. It's a Chinese seafood banquet and I suspect I was only invited to bring my mom, who didn't really want to go. II have to head over during the thick of return-from-beach traffic on hwy17 to pick up my mom at 6, take her to San Jose, take her back home, then go home. It's a bit of a bother, but it'll be good to see family. And it's been a while since I've enjoyed a fat Chinese banquet.

Maybe I'll go over earlier and catch a movie or something.

447: Woke with a stomach ache, due to last night’s banquet no doubt. That was a delightful family gathering. My mom is the elder and treated with great respect, although in that typical Hawaiian way, everyone kept pushing food on her that she couldn’t eat because she can’t chew. It was three tables at Dynasty Seafood, which used to be under Vallco (now demolished I’m told) and was where we held our 25th KFTC banquet. Quite a shindig for my cousin’s granddaughter’s 2nd birthday. Her dad has been part of Facebook for years. They just bought a new house with its own tennis court. It was great to see my family and enjoy a Chinese seafood banquet. Dynasty makes scrumptious fired lobster, shrimp balls, and fish.

Got caught in nasty traffic on hwy17 on the way home. There was a fatality yesterday morning and they still had no cleaned it up by 10ish when I got stuck before Lexington reservoir. Harsh.

Today I plan to write a Den piece along with some miscellaneous tasks for my other jobs. I also will start preparing for our upcoming trip south for Tara’s graduation. I’ll get going as soon as this stomach ache subsides.
