We are getting a lot of good political music videos during this campaign, even for the Swifties.

On Halloween evening, LCF and I fixed our dinners and retreated to the bedroom to eat, with all the other lights out.  Didn't have any candy, and wasn't in the mood, and there likely wouldn't be any treaters anyway.

We've been thinking of doing much the same thing for today.  All of today.  Staying off the news and off social media and maybe just staying in bed.

Unfortunately, I have a video doctor apptmt around noon, and LCF has a ZOOM work meeting this morning.  So we'll at least have to get up and around.

It's all fine. Everything's fine.

Day is still young yet.

Good luck to you, my brothers. Good luck to us all.

The hellscape continues. I woke up at 3am and tossed fitfully for the next half hour, trying to convince myself that the election results could wait. At 3:40 I decided they couldn't wait. It didn't help that when I looked at my phone for the time there were dozens of notifications from the news organizations.

When I finally did get to the news, it was disheartening to learn there was still no result. Which I guess is better than learning the orange shitgibbon would be with us for another four years. Although that could still happen. It also seems like the road to controlling the senate is still rocky.

It's going to be a day.

Watching this makes me all misty.

Suddenly, just like that, the internet is fun again.

I've worked at several hi-tech companies in my career, and along the way there have been occasions where people were laid off.  Usually this was done respectfully, and the departing employee was given a week or two to get things in order before leaving.  But on occasion an employee or manager was promptly escorted from the building by guards.  I'm never certain it was ever done for good reason.  Maybe as a precaution.  More likely as a bit of theater by a boss wanting to hurt someone he didn't get along with.  I've seen it backfire, where the boss himself got escorted out by a higher up replacing him, because the boss hadn't considered that the woman manager he had escorted out might have a boyfriend in a higher position than his, who would return the favor.  [That was a glorious occasion, btw.]

All in all, I don't think I've seen a situation where the walkout was anything but theater.

But never have I felt it was absolutely necessary than in the present circumstance, in Washington D. C., with the Horror Clown.  The moment Biden was announced president-elect, the Horror Clown should have been escorted out within the hour.  To hell with this 80-odd day wait to have Biden sworn in.  You don't leave someone like the Horror Clown in office for another 80-odd days.  That's utter madness.

While I'm trusting that this election will stick, I think we better brace ourselves for a whole lot of tantrum damage beyond the pale.

He’ll be the lamest duck ever. Bigly. Sad.

Kamala’s speech had me misty again. It's so much about her for me.

Joe’s speech was refreshingly coherent and presidential. Been missing that so goddamned much over the last few years.
