Sheltering in Place
Finishing up laundry - everything achieved except for the barrier. Plus we got Yuki to the beach for the first time. He loves to run in the sand.

barrier built. only took two trips to the hardware store (my first screws were too short). it came out rather crooked, but it was all hand tools, hand sawing the plywood scrap leftovers from the neighbor's wall reconstruction, plus my little old makita. at the last moment, stacy asked me to add another part to the partition, which i may do tomorrow because i do have the parts, but it might be too crooked by now so the last bit will be even more crooked.

i'm pretty sore and was getting really angry at myself for all the mistakes i made. it was a simple enough task but i'm so out of practice building stuff. i got this weird flashback to when i left afs - leaving a full shop of tools behind and all my skills faded. now leaving tc, i'm leaving all my graphics programs behind. will my graphic skills fade? they were pretty weak actually. my physical soreness makes me feel old again. we'll see how stiff i am tomorrow - that'll determine if i do this add-on piece stacy wants...

but the barrier will work. it'll keep yuki off the cords and tubes and away from burrowing behind the washer and dryer.

You might look on Craigslist for one of those dog fence/pens. Very useful, and portable.

Oh sure. Tell me now after it's built. It's actually a weird shape, very small, that only a small dog could get through so something had to be custom built. We are looking for a small outdoor doghouse online. The ones at the pet stores are unsatisfactory.

Day 99: I have some FBU work, maybe some TC stuff and should chip on this new project for TPLA since that's this Saturday.

Barrier built to completion. At least that is done.

Day 100: Damn. Well that's a milestone. It's also the KFTC bardo.

Today I have some misc freelance tasks - nothing major except prep - and then over to my mom's.

Day 101: I was up late today to finish up tasks for FBU & Immortal. You know, all this ass-bustin I've been doing lately and I'm still waiting on checks for the most part. They're supposed to come at the end of the month so hopefully I'll be cashing out some this week.

Today I've got nothing really at my mom's this morning. Most all the chores are complete.

I need to prep some TC stuff, actually a fresh ezine piece promoting Immortal but it'll be the first piece that Kevin lays out as it was always Patrick in the past. It should be easy. I can do it if he can't. But he has to learn because I'm not paid to do it anymore and he is.

Then I have an appt at the FBU San Jose campus at 2. Then home to play with Yuki and announce my Immortal twitter takeover for Thursday.

The shop had it’s first “in-store” customers today and has appointments for Friday. Sending some stuff out the door, too. It was like a normal day. The capper was a 10 lesson night, all back-to-back.

My ass, eet eez kicked.

Good to hear.

We need a separate thread just to monitor the status of Yeti Ass.

Day 102: I have the Immortal twitter takeover today at 1-3. This should be fun. I'm very comfortable with answering twit questions for 2 hours. There may or may not be an FBU meeting.

Still a bit down from my allergies. Itchy. Not as bad as last week tho. Svale is just a pollen orgy nowadays.

What is Immortal's Twitter handle so I can follow it and ask you pointed questions about what you are wearing.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

In case you forget, I'm splattering it all over my social media like a Ronin on a road of vengeance cutting spree.

Day 103: I take Yuki to the vet for his worms and giardia meds. I also need to prep for tomorrow’s TPLA panel. Maybe there’s more. I just popped awake now at 3:30 am and can’t think of more tho...too early for the 4:20 thread.

Made it to 4:20 for that post.

These are the puppy perks.

Day 104: Today will be the TPLA guest panel discussion. I gotta get my laptop camera functioning before then. And now I'm tweakin about droppin the ball at the vet visit so I'm not getting to sleep. This pandemic is breaking me. I'm having a tough time keeping it together lately. Lots of stupid mistakes because I'm overwhelmed and the pressure of not having a solid job, losing my health insurance, and everything else, is making things hard to track.

Got the camera working again. Needed an update. That's one problem solved.

What an odd Independence Day.

The TPLA panel went well except for when my wifi cut out (the whole house went down randomly - I blame our quirky hood). Also I got a call from my cousin in the middle of it, the one who lives in Svale. My fear was that he was calling to tell me something happened to my mom and that freaked me out until the wifi crash when I could check the message. He was just calling to invite me and my mom to lunch outside (socially distanced) on Wednesday because his brother will be visiting. That sounds really nice. My mom hasn't been out since the SIP. She'll love it. I was only contracted for an hour, but given the wifi drop, and their generosity with the honorarium, I figured I'd go the distance.

On top of that, Immortal released all these promo vids - the ones that I shot quickly on Wednesday. I posted those on the DM q4w thread http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...1#pid39371. In retrospect, it was kind of a crappy slot for my postings because of the holiday. Views aren't impressive. They went out on facebook, instagram and tik tok (i think - I'm not a tik tokker).

So it was way too much web exposure for my liking today. Holidays are weak for personal social media likes. Maybe it'll all do better over time.

Day 105: I may try take Yuki to SF for that free shot, the one I fucked up on Friday. It would mean travelling with Stacy to her private client in SJ by 10, then to SF to make a narrow window when the Shelter does shots, then back to SJ by 2 to get Stacy to her next client and hanging out at my mom's until she's done. My mom could meet Yuki, which would be fun if he's not too bitey and enjoy her huge yard. Or we may just hope the vet will have mercy on us and get us in for the shot next week. The vet was closed for the 4th and is always closed on Sundays. I'm conflicted because it would be a hard day with Yuki but it was my mistake and I need to correct it.

If we take the second option, I'll just chill at home with Yuki.
