Angus is a *fine* name for a dog.
If you end up cooling your heels in SF for a few hours, I know where they hide the coffee...

I've got a dog named Angus. He likes his ball gag.
It's going to be a quick trip - just to the shelter and back. Raincheck on that coffee.

Day 90. Wow. 90.
Today I start training our puppy. Or maybe I just play with him. Same diff.
I also have a long telemeeting with Five Branches in the afternoon. BTW, I now have an official email there: gene@fivebranches.edu. My first .edu email. I was in grad school prior to everyone having email.

practice was good. i was the only one staying masked and keeping good distance. i credit my years fencing to this. social distance is at sword's length, assuming the person you're facing has a sword too.
washed up, slammed lunch, changed clothes, ready to switch gears to a 4 hour telemeeting for fbu.
puppers is nappin.

Day 91: just wrote a long post here and my surface pro deleted it. it's been acting up lately. i don't know why. just what i need now... merc-n-retro
I'm amazed that if I get to bed early (like last night - ironic for solstice for me) I still wake up at 6 ready to drive 17.
Today is a prep work day. I must finish re-erecting the fence I built when we moved here 7 years ago for Jingles and Romeo. It was taken down when the palm tree was removed last year. It's wire and stakes, and just needs to be hammered in, but it's all bent out of shape. I got it halfway done yesterday before gassing out because I've eaten poorly for the last two days. Major blood sugar crash. Fortunately Stacy made tacos.
Then I must do work for FBU, Immortal & Den of Geek. It's a hectic week upcoming.
Plus there's puppy care. Yesterday was a lot of play (he loves his new toys) and a lot of housebreaking fail clean ups.
And then there's that DOOM zoom...

Fence & FBU achieved (for now). Daughter called.
Den of Geek & Immortal next, then Dad Day festivities (take-out Thai...yay!), some PBS, and DOOM Zoom.

Got a decent chunk of the Immortal task done, enough that I need to sleep on it to proceed. The Den of Geek task ... well, I'm burning out. I should come back to that later.
Stacy just left to pick up take out. Puppers is exhausted from his short walk and adjusting to his new life. He's been napping most of the day, tucked next to the washing machine in the new fenced off area.

Day 92: Not going well. My Surface Pro is not charging. I'm guessing the power cord is bad. Did a search and can't find a replacement until Friday online. I'm planning to go down to Best Buy physically to see what they might have. It's on the way to a computer repair store, which I'll hit if I can't get the cord, just to be sure it's the cord.
I need my laptop to work today. Fortunately I can default to my chromebook for now. I have transferred the critical documents already.
Some beastly creature knocked down my makeshift attempt to block an exit in the yard so I spent all morning stapling chicken wire to sea-rotted wood in a tiny space behind the washer. Puppers is small and can wriggle into tiny spaces like a weasel. I started to build another barrier but my drill powered out. Now recharging.
Our property manager is coming by to check fire alarms. We're trying to rent the unit in the rear of the lot = huge yard, funky space, single occupancy $1200 in the heart of seabright. If anyone knows anyone, it's better than Craig's list.
Still haven't got to yesterday's work. Got a telemeeting at 2. Just got tossed another possible project from Den of Geek. Gonna be a late night.
Feeling too old for this Ronin life. Now I have another mouth to feed and my blade, my laptop, is in need of repair.

Just another manic merc-n-retro Monday.
Well, I can't find a new power cord anywhere but online - or I have to make it for Dublin. I'll have to order that next. It's intermittent, so I charge whenever it's working and just hope I can keep it alive until I get a new power cord.
Meanwhile I'm shifting back to my chromebook and have discovered that I have more functions in chrome on my surface pro than I do on my feckin chromebook. What the actual fuck goog?!? I just spent like an hour trying to figure out why. It's the same feckin account. I can access all my email accounts on my surface pro, but I can't even log out of my chromebook chrome account to access my new work account. And the 'help' directs me to buttons that aren't there.
On the plus side, as soon as my telemeeting is over and puppers wakes up from his nap, I now have the tools to finish the barricade for his pen area. And we passed our inspection by the property manager.
Alright... game face on. Next another telemeeting.

Stacy had a client so was away for my telemeeting with the Prez & Founder of FBU. Just me and him. And sure enough, puppers woke up just prior and began chewin on everything in sight. But he settled in and was very mellow during most of it, except when he took off with one of my slippahs. Just prior to the meeting, due to it in fact because we used goog to meet, I figured out how to add my FBU account and was halfway through when the meeting started, which was a tad awkward because he forwarded me something to that email and I couldn't get it until after, but I bluffed through that. And of course, TC sent me a social media update right in the middle of it all.
I finished my pupper pen, barricading the washer and dryer to retain the pup. He might be able to get through when he's bigger, but hopefully he'll be better trained and I can fortify it more by then.
Now I'm finishing my leftover Dad Day Thai, and catching my breath. Another telemeeting at 5. Maybe I can squeeze some work in for Immortal & Den of Geek.
Too many damn axes being juggled. I'm going to drop one soon if I'm not careful.
Ronin life...
