Had my 1st IPR but he’s overheating so it’s more medical than psych.
Ipr 2 nearly struck me in the face with her naked breast. Good move. Almost worked, especially with my messed up wrist. Poor gal.
Blink is playing in the background - very muffled and distorted but that voices in my head song was apropos to me experience

Glad to have seen 21 pilots. They had their moments but were unable to hold me for the entire set. Don’t have to see them again but might for free at some other fest.
The icing on the cake was a quick pitstop at the Yeti cave for coffee & cheese. Then a pleasant drive down the coast listening to the new K. Flay cd.

oh well. i'm glad of friday's weather. that was amazing. i didn't even have to pull out my first layer.
back to tales of the tripper whisperer
so these two cute petite latina gals come in - they are lucid-ish and both cop to dropping acid. one is having paranoid bursts. the other is doing well, incessantly on her phone, and eventually has to step outside because her friend is tripping her out too much. the tripper whisperer is left alone with the paranoid ipr, who gets these sudden surges. she's eager for her twin sister, who is coming from richmond, to pick her up. she's wearing this tube top (remember those? they are back in again) and at one point, she bolts. the tripper whisperer grabs her by the wrist, forgetting his own wrist is messed up, and the pain make him release her so she goes running into the main hospital area. the tripper whisperer has to shout 'catch her' because these new rm noobs are kinda slow that way. she's brought back and another more seasoned vol, a big gal, comes in to back up the tripper whisperer. the ipr bolts again, and as the tripper whisperer and the helper get her down again, the tube top slips and out pops a perky nipple, just inches from the tripper whisperer's eye. the tripper whisperer may have hesitated at the sight - segue to flashback:
there's this classic samurai movie - a zatoichi maybe - where this villain could hypnotize his opponents with a flaming katana trick. he does it to a bugeisha hottie and then rapes her. the bugeisha gets this elaborate tattoo of a demon sucking on her breast. the next time they meet, the villain again whips out his flaming hypno katana and for a moment, she's stunned. but then she tears off her kimono to reveal the demon tattoo and the villain is stunned long enough for her to kill him and exact revenge - segue from flashback.
armed with this lesson, the tripper whisperer doesn't hesitate long and gets the young lady restrained, repositions her tube top, and eventually reunites her with her sister to go home safely.
moral of this story - samurai movies are good.

It wasn't Zatoichi. It was Lone Wolf and Cub - the Baby Cart from Hell, specifically Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril (1972)

I was hoping to jump into this conversation with the name of that movie FTW. I do recall a Japanese movie where a woman gets a tattoo (on her back?) and sets off for revenge. But I don't think it's a Lone Wolf movie. Anyway, with his infallible (if delayed) memory DM came through. Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril it is.
So. Where the hell can I watch this? I'm glad you asked. Criterion.com, of course. It's got a slew of Lone Wolfs. Maybe all.
Here's how the description for this one begins: "In this distinctly lowbrow entry in the LONE WOLF AND CUB series..."
Nine province lowbrow height staff was one of my favorite weapons in Bak Sil Lum, so this sounds right up my alley.
Among the latest offerings on criterion.com are Police Story and Police Story 2. So it's not as uppity as you might expect. I watched the first a few nights ago. Nice to revisit it and reappraise it. I'll have to watch Police Story 2 well for the same reason.
But maybe not until after a Lone Wolf night.

That's my non-wiki-ed, non-googed memory (I did have to double check the title of Baby Cart in Peril after I remembered it was indeed a Lone Wolf flick)
