i feel ya. you'd think all those years of sf living would have kept our parking skills, but once i got back to suburbian, i fell out of favor with the parking gods.
so do you want to help with wildaid or guard gates? your call. just let me know.
i'm going to try to get there around 7ish on sat. depends how tomorrow night goes. breaky at the hotel is super expensive so tc plans to have some sort of continental breakfast in the vip tent.

I popped awake around 3, posted some stuff for KFM and surfed the web, which I was planning to do at 6 but no. I hope I get some sleep tonight because I won’t tomorrow night.

Dammit. Cut myself shaving.
I’m dressed funny. I kinda failed packing my banquet attire. Waiting for Grace to do her hair. Her student is coming with us - a major spewer of Trump vitriol on Facebook. He’s submissive to Grace tho. Grace once apologized to me about him.
My nose is itchy as hell. San Jo allergy issues.

Sifu Grace & Sifu Helen gave me chocolates. Grace also gave me a strange pocket multitool shaped like a monkey. She, Emilio & I just spent the last few hours drinking Teelings whiskey and talking shop. Grace regaled is with tales of training with so many of the titans of the last gen.
Allergies still bugging me in my left nostril. I really need to get a sleep cycle in now.

In my mind. The best stuff comes out at our informal gatherings. GM Liang just schooled two leading masters in a wild take down lesson.
Finally in bed at 2:20. Need to get up at 6.

Thunder and pouring rain floods parts of south hall, specifically the Dragon Crew station.
I am home, still trembling from residual qi, and on the verge of passing out. But I must repack for Cali Roots and eat. Plus I’d like to take a relaxing bath.
It went well overall.

Many thanks to lcf, cf & ED for their help over the weekend. The Dragon Crew was lean and mean this year, and had to put up with a flood on top of the typical rabid stage parents.
Greg, you were SORELY missed. Many people asked after you. Our coverage will suffer immensely. In retrospect, I'm now reviewing so many great shots that I'm sure you would have taken which our crew missed. But in a way, I'm glad you missed this one because when our Dragon Crew tables (we had 4 next to the VIP tent) flooded, I imagined how horrible that would've been for all your gear. There was a big fat power cable running through the back and we had to elevate the connector lest someone get electrocuted. But I gather you have your own flood issues. Maybe it's time to start working on that Ark?
As a side note, CCL hung his school flags off the walls without any permission, something expressly forbidden by the venue. Those flags were cut down and destroyed. By the venue. Yep, it was the venue. No idea where those went. But I'm sure the workers had fun cutting them up.
Note to self - need to sharpen my daily carry.

Really? I thought CCL was very subdued this year, moping off in a corner every time I looked.

CCL started judging on a traditional ring. He has never been registered as a judge but comes to our judges meetings to eat food and take pix. For that ring, he stopped after every division.
To take pix.
Yeah, y'all saw that coming. He abandoned the ring after he put it a good hour behind schedule. It was the last one to finish, way late. He maybe dis-invited next year. That would be my call but those shots, I don't get to call. Actually, he's never really invited. Most of the traditional wulin hate him.
cf - we must follow up on how you might deliver your pix & vid to me. I can give you our ftp access, or you could stop by for lunch, or whatev. Let's follow up on email.

Random aside - I've been swapping emails with my good friend Laurie Anderson. She was in town last weekend doing shows she had invited me to again at the Chapel but of course, I was busy. I invited her down to KFTCD and she was intrigued because she's planning a Lou Reed Tai Chi Day and wanted to see how it might be done. But she had to cancel due to another commitment, kinda like Daniel Wu had to cancel due to some little film festival in France. Nevertheless, we've been emailing, which is really fun for me.
At least we had Rain from Big Trouble in Little China. He's actually a Kung Fu cousin - same lineage as me and the cfs.
