A Discovery of Witches (2018-22)
#1
I keep seeing the book at the used bookstore, and it was a bestseller, so I was willing to give this a try. I'm enjoying it. There's a woman from a family of witches, who apparently has no witch powers, who is a professor studying alchemy. She gets a book out of the Bodleian library at Oxford and has a supernatural reaction to it. It turns out the book has been missing for hundreds of years and only showed up when she came looking, then disappeared again. Now some powerful witches (apparently a multinational organization) want the book, but the vampires also want it. One of them (Matthew Goode - Henry Talbot, the race car driver in Downton Abbey) is drawn to her and starts protecting her.

Curious to see where it will go. We're only three episodes in. It looks good; money was spent. Possibly DOOM recommended if you want something about witches and vampires.

I read the book because of the hype.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
