I’ve been tasked with a listicle for Scott Adkins so I revisited this because I could hardly remember it. It’s Adkins v Michael Jai White in a Russian prison and it holds up surprisingly well, mostly due to Adkins. He’s in his prime for this film. He’s got that hulking chiseled physique like some marble statue of a Greek god and his moves are so sharp. Some of his flying kicks are just outrageous. What dazzling skill. And White matches him blow for blow. It’s a satisfying martial arts in prison film. I’m tempted to watch the rest because I’m not sure I’ve seen them but I won’t have the time before deadline. Perhaps I’ll chase those down later.
