This is one of those DC animated films based on a graphic novel and it's rated R. It re-imagines Batman in Victorian days going up against Jack the Ripper. The animation quality is fairly weak. It's mainly story driven. Poison Ivy, Catwoman (although she never takes that identity, just Selina Kyle here), Commissioner Gordon and of course, Alfred, are all characters. It's okay. Batman is a tad steampunk and I wish they had just committed fully to that notion. The mcguffin was good. I didn't really think of it as a R - just some swearing, some sanguineuous splatter and a tease of Ivy's derriere in a burlesque show. Maybe that's to warn off the kiddies. It's no where near as good as Batman Ninja (http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=4504) but better than some of the weaker feature films. I imagine the original graphic novel was stronger art-wise.
