Magnificent Warriors (1987)
#1
Another Michelle Yeoh, although she was Michelle Khan back then.

I mistook this for Royal Warriors, her 2nd film after an unsuccessful search for Yes, Madam, her first lead role.

This is one of those goofy HK Kung Fu comedies. Michelle is a martial arts master and biplane pilot who dons a leather flight jacket and whip ala Indiana Jones. Her mission is to rescue Youda (not Yoda but that's what I thought they were saying at first) who is a leader of a settlement in Mongolia that's being invaded by Japanese. Michelle is supposed to connect with Agent 001, but the clue, a watch, is stolen by a petty thief played by veteran HK long-faced comedian Richard Ng. Let the hijinks begin.

It's great to see Michelle at 25 when she was more of a cutie starlet. And her skills are sharp, great fights, some nice rope dart and staff fighting exhibited, along with her dynamic leg skills. She was great a scissor kicks.

Cast in minor roles are superkicker Hwang Jang Lee, legendary Ku Feng, and everyone's best selfie friend Chiu Chi Ling (another non-speaking role - he's just a background henchman).

Not particularly D00M recommended.

Seen on YouTube, a dubbed version with cheesy dubbing, but it's a cheesy movie so that was fine.
