She was this crazy Deadhead Rasta lady I knew from the music scene. She looked like some nutty old Jewish lady, but was full of such joyous mischief and love of music, dressed in the most resplendent tiedye. We used to hang together at the Kind Rugs booth (lots of pix from that den of notoriousness in my fb albums). Barbara spent a lot of time living in Jamaica and she could smoke anyone under the table.
I just got word over fb.
And she took Rush with her.
It pleases me to imagine her driving him to Hades in some beat up old deadhead van that she's hotboxing with ganga, playing Hell in a Bucket at 11, singing along at the top of her offkey pot-resinated lungs.
I searched for a pic of her from my music fb albums and was disheartened not to find any. I could've sworn there was something.
