Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, Amber Spyglass comprise the three books. Very entertaining, really down on the Catholic Church, and also, entertaining. I might watch the movie now.
I’d been hearing about the books for a long time, finally picked them up as Quarantreading. Dude loves his Milton. I like the idea of Armoured Polar Bears, so I was in for sure. Big, sprawly story.
Could be viewed as YA, but more on the A side.
Enjoyable.
I wish I had a small personal daemon pal...

I read the Golden Compass when it first came out. It never struck me all that well so I didn't complete the trilogy. The first movie was fine. The TV show makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

Read the first one but didn't get hooked. Certainly clever but didn't grab me.

Honestly that's all I remember...
Wasn't Bond in it too?

Yes. Bond was in it.
For those liking this Trilogy, I believe Pullman is writing a sequel trilogy at the moment. I could find out but I really don't care all that much.
But I kind of think of revisiting this because it is so popular and I can't fathom it.

It's a YA trilogy, so maybe that's why?
