Bautista, Nanjiani & Uwais. Nice to see a non-white cast of leads, but it's very uneven, a throwback to buddy flicks that has some funny moments but they are too few and far in between. The pacing never quite comes together. Bautista doesn't carry the lead well. He's best as a foil for someone else, not a lead. Nanjiani has good comic timing but needed more opportunities. Their buddy chemistry is almost there, but not quite. I laughed at a few lines, but I don't remember them now. Uwais is a cardboard cut-out villain, totally under used. The fight choreo is wobbly cam, completely invalidating Uwais' talent and obscuring the tiny glimmers of his special skills. Disappointing show for Iko overall, but at least he got third credit.
I feel like I just sat through a long ad for Uber, with a small commercial break for Sriracha.

I should add for PPFY that Karen Gillan is in this. But do NOT watch this to see her. You will be sorely disappointed...quickly.

Thanks, DM. I would have stepped on that mine.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

I'm watching it on the premium channel. I don't feel good about myself.

Too late. Kind of sucked. Was surprised to see that Iko Uwais was in the film. And I found he was in the film when I checked IMDB to see if that was actually Mira Sorvino. And it is.
So much dumb. Dumb upon dumb upon dumb. It's the unlikely buddy cop scenario. It's every character flaw you can imagine. Buatista is broken by tough love as a child and he's emotionally separated from his only daughter. Najani has the unrequited love with the hot girl but is stuck in the friend zone. They both try to fix the other's problem against the backdrop of revenge for Bautista who's partner was killed by a drug lord. There were several funny bits, sort of. I kind of liked the fight in the sporting good story and the fight in the veterinarian's office. They rose to mildly amusing.
There's a lot of discussion about things never happening in real life that you see all the time in the movies, which then happen in this movie.
Iko Uwais is wasted. He only appears really at the end and mostly to fight Bautista. He's not even the the main bad guy, but if you know how films work it's easy to see who the real bad guy is. It's the cliche cop-film play book and they hit every page.
Why did you tell me to watch this DM?

Because of the cool sets and the MCU connect?
This is like when you jump on a grenade to save a friend and then he goes and pulls the pin on another and sits on it.
