Social Distortion @ Fillmore

Opening act was a typical punk band except they had a black female lead. They were ok, I guess. Punk all sounds the same to me.

Had 2 calls already. Syncopal and an ankle roll from the person the syncopal fell on.

I forgot my laminates.

Now there’s another band. I think we’re still in opening acts.

I should qualify that I don’t think I’ve seen Social D but if they played the Warfield in the late 80s/early 90s, that was a gray zone. The AFS Warfield years are a massive blur. I have some cracknpeels but Warfield always used codes, never the band name, plus I didn’t keep all of those. So there were a lot of bands I saw then that I don’t remember at all.

Actually this might be Social D…

Ok, yeah, this is definitely sd.

Just heard someone yell ‘fuck I’m old!’

Was on a call front of stage for ball & chain. Sounded slow but the crowd ate it up.

Ring of fire now. I think this is their encore. Worked a lot tonight. Mostly edible crashes and I didn’t have my pepper.

I ate too many peanut butter pretzel bites.

Nope
One more song…

And we’re done.

Home!

Damn, that was a ride. Hydroplaning down 280 (my back tires are new but my front tires are bald and of need of replacement). Then 17 had moments of thick fog and downpour - total double jeopardy. But trusty Darth forged a path. My hand was almost cramping from gripping the wheel.

Thought about staying in svale tonight but I have Kung Fu in a few hours. Then I’m taking Yuki for a Xmas photo shoot at his vet’s.

Ultimately I must agree with KB’s take (http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...9#pid75599). Ness seemed to remember the lyrics from what little I heard - we were busy - but the band seemed sluggish overall and sluggish punk ain’t a thing. But the crowd ate it up so good for them.

Old punks are kinda funny. Many clearly dug out their old tattered leathers & patch jackets but they’ve let their piercings & such fade so they look like normal people in their 50s/60s dressed like caricatures of what they once were.

But then, being a deadhead, I can’t be judgey about old fan fashions, can I?

Ness has been clean for years now so he can probably remember the words, unless from a failing memory.

It’s not like their lyrics are too challenging.
