RIP Mary O'Shea
#1
One of my dear Kung Fu brothers, Brian, lost his mom recently. He posted this:
Quote:Friends and family,
After a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, my dear mother Mary passed away peacefully today, surrounded by her three children, Deirdre, Katie and me.
Thank you to all who have provided comfort and encouragement throughout her journey. Special thanks to all who have served as her caregivers in various capacities over the years.
While I am deeply saddened at the loss of my mother, I am relieved that she is free from this disease and is at peace now. She will live on in my heart, and in the hearts of everyone who had the good fortune to know her.

Brian was part of Lam Kwoon, a quite thoughtful student. He joined me at Shaolin Temple in '99 when I was working on the PBS documentary. He was traveling alone in Asia and ended up in Thailand where he spent time at a temple and training Muay Thai. He's been part of my Dragon Crew at TCEC, and recently we connected at that psychedelics conference where he was researching therapies for his mom. He was incredibly dedicated to her, so much so that it impacted his social life immensely.

I never met his mom Mary, but he had created a Facebook page to share her well being with friends and family. That's where he made the post above.

With Greg, tg & me going through with our moms right now, perhaps it'll offer a little perspective.
