I'm sure I have no idea. I'll go with Clerical or Li Shu.

I hear they will use Google Translate for the tariff laws. This is how the AI bot apocalypse starts.

Actually, I don't really know because I only see the stuff he did for his books and for KFM, but he leaned into the running script usually for us. It's my least favorite because it can be very difficult to read. I prefer standard or chop. That's super clear. But then again, it's GM Tu, and clarity was never his strongest.

GM Tu is switching things up. He said "and generally only three are needed, including Dragon Climb, Abdomen, Round Neck and Lotus Glue....."

I just got two of the transcripts back from the translators after I sent them through Google translate.

They changed some of the Chinese characters but not a single bit of the English translation.

Go figure.

Ha. Turns out the translator didn't change her changes to red. There are a ton of changes. My bad. Should have listened to my TA about that.

The work I planned to do for the next several days, turning subtitles into titles, which I thought would take several days now is only going to take a day. Thanks to a note from Tech Support. I clicked one button on the plug-in and now everything acts like it should. The subtitles started to drift out of sync as the film went along, which threw off the titles as well. Quite the mess to fix. And now, not so much.

Today was the deadline I set for myself to be finished. Why this day? Because it is the last day to enter the Tribeca Film Festival. Did I make it? Ha! Not even close. I have so much film and the struggle is to find a way to make it make sense.

I'm currently hoping to have the first rough cut by the end of January. I really want to be done by the end of February.

Fingers crossed.

The Brian Eno doc that came out last year is comprised of a bunch of sections, and they are presented in different order every time you watch it via generative AI. Who needs narrative?

I suppose it's apropos for him, since he is rather aphoristic. (Is that a word?)

The film is nowhere near the road to being complete. I've had other things on my mind.

But GM Tu did take my advice and tried to get a booth in the very prestigious Beverly Hills Art Show. His efforts have been rewarded and he will be showing during the show. I got a very nice email from Sandy thanking me for the suggestion.

Still going nowhere fast.

I got a bulk email from Sundance. Submissions for the next festival are open.
