The Book Count 2024
Code Zero by Jonathan Maberry
Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky
The Mercy of Gods by James S.A. Corey

Yep, I've lost some books over the course of the last two months. But here are a couple.

Code Zero is another in the Joe Ledger series. It is almost a sequel to Patient Zero. Once again the world is in peril and it's up to Joe and Echo Team

Service Model is  what happens when humanity fades and the robots take over. It is very post apocalyptic. An interesting premise. Tchaikovsky has done better.

The Mercy of Gods is the new series by the Corey boys who brought you the Expanse. This time the humans of Anjiin are defeated by the alien Caryxx in just a few days and taken to the Caryxx world to be their slaves. You can tell from the narration this is the first step in humanities war to fight back against the attackers. Lots of interesting aliens and science stuff. Really good moral questions to answer. Great world building. Sucks it's going to be a long drawn out affair.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Re-reading Elric and enjoying it. Fun to see when he went from Pulp to Political. Now reading his von Bek series. Very good summation/damnation of fascism in Weimar years and now into early Nazi era.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
