The Play That Goes Wrong-Oakhurst
#1
The Queen and I attended our local playhouse to see how the Oakhurst production of TPTGW compares to the production we saw in London back in 2016. Even without attending the play, I'm sure you can guess that there was no comparison between a show that is performed 8 days a week for years in the theater capital of the world and a ten show run in the back of the beyond staffed with local talent.

But for what is was, it was kind of funny. The Oakhurst troop did a good job. We laughed, partly because we knew what was coming and partly because the play is funny. The locals did add a few of their own touches. They made more use of the stage staff which was a little overdone. They did a big stunt were part of the stage partially collapses which was very ambitious. Some of the actors needed to hone their craft a bit more  but you will have that.

Because it was local theater they started the shown by bringing out some youth actors to sing songs. The audience sang Happy Birthday to one of the young thespians. It was all quite quaint.

One of the funnier/ruder things was that some of the audience thought it was okay to shout at the stage. One of the audience cries was really funny. The rest were just rude.

So kudos for their daring but I don't know what show will get me back to the Golden Chain theater soon.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
