I saw no signs of a mythical sword despite the description I read.
Your missing sword is a translation issue I think. In Chinese, dao means any single edged blade from a knife to a sword to a pole arm. I suspect the same is true for Korean.
Here's the new trailer:
Been waiting for this to come up free in one of my streaming services. That day has come…
For the first hour, this film delivers on all fronts and then some. It’s a wuxia/comedy/sci-fi/time travel/bot-love/K-sword&sorcery/bad cops/cat demons/actioner with a cute little girl heroine and lots and lots of tentacles. Sword fights? Check! Kung Fu? Check! Car chasss? Check! Space battles? Check! Cgi bot battles? Check! I could keep this up all night.
It somewhat loses gas in the latter portion because it gets too damn confusing. At a certain point, I sorted checked out because I couldn’t keep track of it all. Nevertheless I watched it until the end just to see where it might go. It had so many genre mashing turns that I was ready for anything except what happens … to be continued. Dammit. I thought things would resolve. A lot comes together but now I have to keep it all in mind for the sequel - it’s demand a rewatch by then.
If you like K-film, it’s a must see because it’s just so insane in a good K way. D00M recommended for any K-film aficionados (looking at you again, cf).

This was loud. I thought you mentioned this was loud, but I did a search and didn't see it. LCF and I have been fighting a very mild flu (it seems), and I tried to watch it in that state. I got to nodding off halfway through, and it kept waking me by being loud. I did wake up to catch the non-ending (bastards!).
All in all, very colorful and crazy, but I just wasn't in a state to stick with it.
Oh, I forgot to mention that this is dubbed. Not certain if you mentioned that. And the subtitles are often at odds with what is dubbed. Not that it's radically different. Just different enough that you wonder why the dubbers and subtitlers never worked together. And it really throws off your reading and hearing comprehension.
I'm nobody's pony.

Right. The dubbing was really annoying. It’s one of the things I disdain about Amazon - only dubbed versions are available. Drives me batty with Shaw Bro flicks. And the clash between the dub and the subs was confusing yet kinda funny.
As for the loudness, there’s a volume control on your TV, ya know…
My ultimate take on this is - missed it by that much. It had it going on in the beginning but just could not see it through. That made the ending even more disappointing. That being said I’ll probably watch the sequel if it happens.

Alienoid 2 Back to the Future seen.
This was so confusing. The quick review of p1 at the beginning got me even more confused. Too many characters jumping back and forth through time, some possessed by alien prisoners, some daoist sorcerers from medieval times. The aliens have tentacles that pop out like spear whips - so much tentacle action.
At some point I just gave up trying to follow it that closely and just enjoyed it for its action and humor. And the final battle is over the top - like a comic book movie finale on adderall. The pratfalls are mostly slapstick with some comic relief sorcerers and a pair of magic cats but it got a giggle out of me.
It does resolve everything. Someday when I have nothing to do (like that ever happens) I’m inclined to watch both films back2back. But for now, I’m going to give the finale of part 2 a total D00M recommendation on the grounds that you don’t watch the rest before it. Just jump into the last hour of part 2. It’s a wild ride.
Seen on Hoopla.
