Memory Loss
#1
On one of the threads, we posted about worrying about forgetting things. Yes, I understand the irony of starting a thread on forgetfulness because I couldn't remember where I put the thread on forgetfulness.

Currently, I'm trying to remember he name for the lead guitarist for Led Zeppelin. Don't tell me. I'm going to dredge my brain until it pops. I can see him in my mind's eye, especially a shot of him using a violin bow on his guitar. I can name the other three members of the band, although Robert Plant took me a second. This came about because John Paul Jones is currently doing a rendition of 'When the Levee Breaks' with a wide variety of artists to raise money for charity.

And just like that: Jimmy Page.

It is still a worry.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

I feel ya.

I've been experiencing this ghost memory phenomena where I remember something like the scene from a movie I just watched or a bit of conversation I just had but I can't place it. I can't remember what the movie was or who I was talking to... It's very frustrating.

Then there's those moments when I forget something that should be an easy access memory, like a name or word I use all the time. I was puzzling over a word just yesterday. Aw crap...I can't remember what it was now but it was a common adjective or adverb for something I was writing and it took me a dive into thesaurus.com for me to recover it.

A friend called me out on an inaccuracy in one of my recent articles and I could NOT place it. Granted I write a lot now and it's like studying for the exam in college = cram, cram, cram, dump for the exam (or in my case, the essay) and then forget all about it. After a long series of messages, I finally figured out what was up - and I wasn't wrong. The person I quoted was wrong. I just quoted them directly.

Memory is funny. I do misplace words more now, but some rock-solid recollections have turned out to be very inaccurate. That bothers me. I have a good mind for details and a good memory...so I thought.

False memories deserves another thread entirely.

I find myself searching the web for memories - concert dates, my own social media, here a lot too. The concert stuff is the most messed up because that got really blurry. I'll go to look something up to confirm a memory, and it'll be all wrong or confused. At the point, if someone messed with the interwebz, they could effectively shift my perceived memories of reality.

I do remember Dark Star tho. Great movie. Brilliant. 'Let there be light'
