Very fun. The lighter neighborhood of the DC universe.

It's an origin story. They spend too much time learning about the powers. But it's okay. There were a couple of good twists. A couple of very emotional moments. Most of the funniest bits were in the trailers but there was enough that was fresh that made it alright.

I'd wait to see this on TV or streaming. We were in the theater because there's not a lot to do in Madera.

And here I thought the emotional moments were me mourning brother Bone.

Agreed with Greg's appraisals completely. I was surprised by this.  The human story in the foster home was heartwarming, actually better than the superhero story. The mild-mannered secret identity story is fresh; the superhero story was cliche, until the end. The quips were funny enough that one actually got me to chuckle out loud.  Not epic, but entertaining in a light, fanciful way.  Some great nods to the DCEU too. I hope those are reciprocated somehow.

I do have one semi-complaint. Eugene. WTH man.  Why are characters named Eugene always nerds?  And this kid was Asian, with a reggae hat (although that seemed unintentional). He was a videogamer, which I am not, so it wasn't that close to the mark, but still...really?  I would've been rather upset with him had the film not ended up like it did.

I approve of Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. It's odd that in this stage of Mirren's career she's becoming an action star....
