Wow, was this disappointing. I was hoping for something from Steve Carell and Zemeckis. But nope. It's like they lost all their movie making skills.

And it didn't help that I saw the documentary. ( http://brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/s...p?tid=4751 ) I spent a good portion of the movie pondering why the Hollywood version of the story didn't use elements of the actual version of the story. Although they did use all the elements of the actual story, Zemeckis put them together in an odd way. I think it was more important to bring the doll's to life than to actually have an effective narrative.

Granted, no one is going to see this movie. It had the worst opening of any movie coming out this year. Our theater had a few people in it, but I was expecting it to be empty after I read the headlines.

So, it's a bad film. And not in a good way.

Thanks for jumping on that grenade Greg.  I was curious but the reviews have been so dismal and yours is the last nail in that coffin.

We all appreciate you sacrificing a few hours of your life so we don't have to...

Since the trailer showed the whole movie, I didn’t feel onliged to see it.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

The only thing the trailer didn't show was the rational for the beating, which I think they kept under wraps for fear that would alienate the audience.

I saw this trailer before Mary Poppins Returns yesterday.  It literally shows the entire movie.
