Is this real?
#1
contact juggling

This is very odd.

At first I was impressed by this guy's skills, but soon my attention was drawn to the complete and utter indifference of the people in the background. Not a single glance at a guy performing an amazing feat, in front of a crowd (that applauds occasionally) and at least one video camera.

I think about the 'tell' of Ray Harryhausen - sharp focus subject while other objects were slightly out-of-focus and subject to 'motion-blur'. This guy seems almost to be in front of a blue-screen.

When will reality and CGI become indistinguishable? It's damn close now and I believe we will be confronted with this reality in our lifetimes.

What say ye?

EDIT: Heres another one Another creepy contact juggler
But at least everyone that walks by stares at him. My question still stands.

I understand your "is it real, or is it Memorex" dilema, and I can't definitively say. I think the second one (the only one I watched" was performed live, but I can't say whether or not he was just moving around gracefully with no balls (hmmm...that was an unfortunate turn of phrase) hence the looks, but no crowd, or if the onlookers were just that jaded.

I have seen similar acts in Cirque de Soleil On the other hand, I wonder why it was video #2 got looks but no crowd...
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
