A doc about America’s greatest movie music composers by their sons. I didn’t really take notice of their work until rewatching so many Disney classics when Tara was a kid. So many great movies, the soundtrack to the park (tiki room was first, then it’s a small world). But they were contentious, the Fleetwood Mac of the Beatles at their creative peak.
I learned a lot. I didn’t know much about their history. They get a ton of talking head interviews but some only get like half a line. It’s a bit of a choppy pastiche with so much material - archive footage and interviews from over the decades. It takes a bit for it to find its rhythm. The editing choices were a bit rough but it’s such a story.
Some fascinating revelations like Walt’s fav song and one of the brother’s experience in wwii.
