[seen on Criterion]
A lady researcher named Rosetta Stone (played by Tilda Swinton) creates three androids/cyborbs/robots or whatever and names them Ruby, Olive and Marine (all played by Tilda Swinton), who wear clothes the color of their name for easy identification. They are immortal, but need semen to remain so. Refreshingly, rather than kill for it, they satisfy the sexual needs of lonely and dysfunctional males. The whole idea is kinda neat, worth reading the IMDB entry for. But the movie, though having high production values, is a mess. Tilda is the best part, and fortunately there's a lot of her. But she can't save this bit of technobabble.
Nor can Karen Black, though it's a nice cameo.
