Animation in a rough, scribbly piecemeal style, though still compelling, based on the Grimm fairy tale of the same or similar title.
A father makes a deal with the devil, enriching himself with gold little realizing he is sacrificing his daughter. When the devil comes to collect, the girl is too clean. So the devil restricts her to a treetop so she can't wash. But she uses spit to wash her hands, and this is enough to still repel the devil. So the devil makes the father chop off her daughter's hands, which he reluctantly does. But the girl cries so much that her tears clean her stumps, and the devil is repelled again. Many adventures follow as the girl sets off on her own.
Strange and trippy, but no match for my ability to doze off. Still, worth a gander.
