I like Neil Gaiman, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan. I'll watch this. More from Tudum.

I am 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying it. It's a bit clunky. There is a lot of we have to find the thing so we can do the thing plotting. The effects are trippy especially when they get to Dreamland. They do have to do a lot of explaining for the uninitiated.

Ep01 The capture of Morpheus and it's repercussions. My favorite villain from Last Action Hero Charles Dance gets to be the Magus. Lots of sad things happen with lots of talking.

Ep02 Time to start finding the thing and what happened to the things. First we need to get some power back and talk to the fates. Plus we meet two characters who I really like and something named Gregory which is always a plus.

Ep03 Constantine, yes, that Constantine shows up. Sort of. It's a quest to find one of the things and discussion about one of the other things.

I'm in. The shows is really pretty to look at.

My only gripe is one of the actors, who I love in everything he does, seems really out of place among this cast and it is distracting.

First episode was a bit slow moving, but now it should get going. I never read the comic (I think that was before they used the term graphic novel) so I don't know if it's faithful, but Gaiman worked on it. Looking forward to the next episode.

Ep04 was really good. Sandman goes to hell and battles. The imagery in this show is extraordinary. I keep thinking they pulled some of the shots straight from the comic books. I never read the comics either but I do have huge bound edition on the shelf waiting to be read.

There is a concurrent plot going on between David Thewles and Sarah Niles from Ted Lasso (the therapist) It's a lot of driving but extremely tense.

I'm still enjoying it. Bad things are coming.

Ep 3 was good, and looking forward to the trip to hell in the next one. The pacing is perhaps slow for a big chunk of the American audience; it feels very English to me in that way.

Ep05 was harsh. It's all about David Thewlis and him using the powers stolen from Sandman. The majority takes place in a diner as all the diner participants find they can only tell the truth. It ends badly. It was a really messed up episode and I liked it. It also brings a conclusion to the first five episodes. It will be interesting to see where they go from here.

Ep06 was a pump the break episode sort of a languorous walk with Sandman and his sister. Plus, we get to meet someone going through some stuff. It was quiet and well done

I read that Gaiman did Ep05 just to show you he is capable of anything and that everyone needs to be on their toes. I do really like the depiction of the fates in this series.

Ep07 and Ep08. Saturday. Time to watch two episodes. The new plot elements are introduced centered on the Vortex and there is a way to connect it to the first five episodes. I really like the Corinthian. He is just so creepy. There are a lot of good creepy things but at the moment he stands out. I was glad to see the return of at least Abel and Patton. Patton still seems out of place but I'll allow it.

I'm enjoying the story and the visuals.

Ep09 and Ep10 And that's a wrap. Overall, I enjoyed the series. Sandman could get a bit mopey at times but on the whole the series was very well done. The last two episodes focus on a young girl and everyone's friend, Corinthian. The idea behind the convention was just too creepy. I think we need more from Morpheus's brother's and sisters because they were really good as well.

Next season will be on fire.

And then it wasn't quite a wrap. Netflix dropped a surprise episode. Neil Gaiman said that now Sandman was just like Spinal Tap because Sandman went to 11.

It is two short stories in one episodes. The first is animated and is about cats and I particularly enjoyed it except for the part where I see the cat's plan. The second was about writers and writers block and the muses. It was pretty horrific because again it shows people are bad.

Sandman Season 2 is upon us. July 3. I wonder how they will handle the Neil Gaiman issue. (My guess is by not talking about Neil Gaiman)
