My Mighty Princess (2008)

This is a S. Korean rom-com wuxia. Sohwi is a cute gal who is a martial arts master, but it makes her a social outcast so she give is up and tries to hide her skills because she's crushing on a motorcycle-riding hockey player in her school. But he's crushing on a female cop that's old enough to be his mother and another nerdy dude is crushing on Sohwi. Goofy cutesy romance hijinks ensue.

But this is wuxia, so there's a missing sword - the Green Destiny ala Crouching Tiger no less - and Sohwi's dad is the wulin mengzhu (union leader). He has some allies and of course, there's a villain. At a certain point, there's a major gear shift in the film that borders on epic wuxia.

This film opens with a sword fight. Then there's the rom com. Then there's more sword fighting - the moon technique vs the lightning technique. It's a lot of wire fu and not much CGI. They really flew the actors and stunt people around while they were waving swords. It's good for what it is.

It's a lot about the lead, Shin Min-a, who is super cute, like a younger Shu Qi. She's a model, actress and singer, plus she's not bad with a sword. It's modern wushu based and she pulls it off well.

Warning: There's a lot of K-hip hop. The Koreans popified hip hop like no other. It's unlistenably annoying.

Not DOOM recommended. Too cutesy. Amazon Prime although you can find it for free on Asian Crush YouTube.
