Steve Jobs (2015)
#1
This was better than I thought it was going to be, which isn't saying much because I wasn't that into it. I'm not huge into Fassbender and couldn't see him in the role. Winslet was great as always, so much so that it took me a while to recognize her. Rogen as the Woz didn't work for me at all. I've met the Woz. He used to come to MQ6 and he was really cool. I saw him at SVCC and he still seemed cool. The premise was intriguing - it captures moments just prior to the launch of the Macintosh, NeXT, and the iMac, and all these points come together for Jobs in flashbacks, mostly with him and his daughter Lisa although it wasn't the father/daughter theme that grabbed me. It was an engaging enough storytelling device, working better than I thought it would.

But what sold the film for me was the settings - the Flint at De Anze, the SF War Memorial and Davies, all venues I know well (Stacy used to work at the Flint). So that was kinda fun.

No sword fights. Only DOOM recommended for the venues.
