Good one for October, and nothing like that bad movie of a few years ago. It's about the family that lived in the house but a lot of it takes place years later after they move, with many flashbacks. I thought it was clever and it looked really good. And Stephen King liked it.

Greg, I've unfairly maligned your work. I suddenly realized that I had never seen that Hill House; the terrible movie I was thinking of was 13 Ghosts, but it did have a big clockwork mechanism, so points for that.

No. You were right. My Haunting was horrible with Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta Jones and Owen Wilson.
But our sets were awesome.

I have now watched the first two episodes of the series. It's really good. Really creepy in spot. Does have some humor. I wish the production could have found some place to rent or purchase lights.
But the whole way the story weaves the past and the present together is really good. In a lot of spots, you know something bad is coming and they play well with that.
My only complaint is the sets suck. The exterior of the house is laughable.

Episode 8 rules. It felt like it was ten minutes long. Lots of good WTF moments to play with your head.

And then the roller coaster ride ended. We watched the last two episodes last night.
That was nine great episodes of TV. Too bad about the tenth.
When more of you have watched it or more time has passed we can talk about it. And you should watch it for those first nine episodes. It was a puzzle box that tied together so perfectly. But once the box was opened, all I could think was "That's it?"

I must be blocking the 10th episode pretty hard because I'm looking forward to this.
