I remember that. So awesome!

I blame this sort of cinema for my distorted tastes...

Right. That was, uh…yeah.

Well said, Dr. Yeti. I think you speak for all of us.

I  detected a continuity glitch 30 seconds in.  After the standing guy is hit in the face by a boat missile and falls on his back, he can briefly be seen wearing wrap-around sunglasses as he thrashes around on the ground.  When his cohorts help him to his feet, he no longer wears them.

Other than that, I didn't see anything out of place in a fair fight.

I wasn't aware of this:

Quote:Watch the full length Clones of Bruce Lee

Very few actors will ever have the immediate impact Bruce Lee created with his brief film career. Once Enter the Dragon was released in August 1973, a month after Lee's death; the film became a cultural phenomenon and cemented the kung fu film genre in the West. Consequently, every studio (East or West) began searching for its own version of Bruce Lee. Unlike Golden Harvest and Shaw Studios, who invested in actors who possessed the potential to become the next Bruce Lee, other studios attempted to trademark their own "Bruce Lee."

From Bruce Li to Bruce Lai and every variation between, there was a litany of Lee knockoffs in the 70s. In one of the most meta Hollywood decisions of all time, one movie sought to wrangle all of the faux Bruce Lees into one film titled: The Clones of Bruce Lee. In the film, Bruce Lee gets cloned after his death and… you know what, you just have to watch it. Check out the whole movie in the video linked above.

You know, I revisited Clones a few years ago when doing a deep dive on Brucesploitation a few years ago. I'm surprised I didn't review it here. Maybe I didn't watch it all the way through, or just forget.

I did post a review on this from the same period (I think this is actually a stronger Brucesploitation film)

Something for DM. I'm sure he knows this film.

Mine is better. Yeti just gets a dumb pun and I get that amazeballs image? Oh yeah. In your face Yeti! YOUR FACE!!!  Greg luvs me more. He wants to chill in my garage.

No...wait...what is that a euphemism for again?

And that blue dude would be Inazuman, a tokusatsu TV show from 70s and part of the Kamen Rider universe.

I don't know who the cowboy is.

RE: It's my martial arts world - King Bob - 04-06-2022

Isn't Kamen Rider the one with Starfish Hitler?

RE: It's my martial arts world - Greg - 04-06-2022

This is two years old and I'm sure DM already did something on it, but I couldn't find it here. It's a good explainer as to why the light saber fight scenes in Star Wars often fall flat.
