When will you be in town tomorrow?
RE: COVID-19 - Drunk Monk - 05-17-2021
My appt is after lunch sometime. Not sure where yet either. Still waiting for the details. Might you be available? I was thinking of reaching out to you, maybe swinging by Victory if it's not too far off my route. I'll let you know as soon as I know...
RE: COVID-19 - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 05-17-2021
I have the day free, but the night, the night is for...REVENGE! Or teaching basic stabbery to children. Same diff.
Oh, I’m doing moving stuff during the day, so I’ll be mobile and can meet you.
RE: COVID-19 - Drunk Monk - 05-17-2021
Cool. I'm still waiting for intel. Talk about last minute for this gig. They initially said somewhere on the south side of SF but the crew is from NY so they don't know...
This just in. I'm scheduled to be at Burdick Studios, 1777 Yosemite Ave., #230 in SF. I plan to head up earlier, so maybe we can meet for coffee somewhere? Perhaps we should shift to texting so as not to bore the others with our rendezvous details.

Fucking Covid.
For those DOOMers that have worked TCEC, you may remember Jonny's wife Isobel. Her mom just lost her life partner to Covid. She just posted this on facebook: "It took COVID five days only to bring him down to an induced coma, hemodialysis, ventilator, proning, death. No one allowed to be near him except for doctors and nurses."
Her family is mostly from Chile but I think he was in Brazil.

Holy crap. That is no good. I guess no one told the pandemic it is supposed to be over.

A man smokes a marijuana joint at a party celebrating weed in Seattle in 2016.
(CNN)Add free weed to the list of incentives being offered to people to encourage them to get vaccinated against Covid.
Officials at the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) on Monday gave state licensed cannabis retailers permission to offer one pre-rolled marijuana joint "to adult consumers who receive a vaccination at an in-store vaccination clinic."
The promotion, which LCB calls "Joints for Jabs," aims to promote and support the state's vaccination efforts, according to LCB's news release. They added that they received multiple requests from cannabis retail licensees to help in the efforts.
The promotion is offered to adults 21 and older, and will end on July 12.
The news comes just a few weeks after LCB announced a different incentive offering those who got vaccinated free beer, wine and cocktails.
Across the US, many have been offering incentives ranging from free donuts to baseball game tickets to encourage people to get vaccinated as more states try to reach their vaccination goal.
In Washington, 48.7% of the state's residents are fully vaccinated, according to data from CNN's vaccine tracker. The state's goal is to hit 70%, according to the state's health department.

Washington State combined the Booze Guys with the Pot Guys and they passed on calling it a "Joint Task Force"?

Oh snap. Maybe I should back off of my return to shows...
This is from the Felton Music Hall show which is close. A friend of mine went, got exposed via a different situation, but tested negative thankfully.
Quote:From Grateful Shred...
As many of you have already heard, a number of people have tested positive for Covid who attended our California shows this past weekend. Nearly all of the band and crew have also tested positive and are at home recovering with their families. If you were at any of these events, please get a test, and if you're feeling sick, stay home. Apparently the vaccine does not prevent transmission. But fortunately, it does seem to really help in reducing sickness and preventing hospitalization. If possible, please vax up and be sure to wear a mask whenever you are inside or close to others. Please take care and be safe so that we can keep live music going and be together again real soon.
###
From the Hall...
In addition to the band, we have had multiple confirmed cases of Covid 19 from people that attended our concert on July 18th. Over the weekend we sent out two emails keeping ticket purchasers informed. What started as one person feeling symptoms has turned into a couple of confirmed cases. We encourage anyone that attended that show to go and get tested.
All staff have taken rapid tests and are in the process of getting PCR tests. One member of our team tested positive and has been quarantining while awaiting their PCR results. Any employee that was exposed will need to provide a negative test before working their next shift. We will remain closed until Thursday when all testing has been done.
Moving forward we will be requiring that all concert goers and staff wear masks while inside the venue. This is for the safety of all! We ask that anyone attending an event take their temperature before attending and if they are feeling any symptoms to please stay home.
We are in close contact with the Santa Cruz County Health Division and working with them on the safest way to move forward. To ensure we can resume normal life and unrestricted concerts again, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated. Please head to www.santacruzhealth.org for more information on vaccination sites.

Changed from team Moderna to team Pfizer
I didn’t get no coupons. Now I have to sit for 15 mins listening to horrid CVS Muzak.
I didn’t get a free joint either.
I did get some joint pain. I’m a bit achy and my shoulder is sore af. I feel more spacey than usual (which is saying a lot) but that maybe because I slept poorly last night. I kept thinking my temp was elevated but I don’t think that’s actually happening. I have a slight headache.
The first two were much worse. I’m told Pfizer is milder. Stacy had all Pfizer and only felt poorly after #3.
RE: COVID-19 - Drunk Monk - 11-17-2021
I had a teleconference first thing this morning where I was being taught a complex part of our email programming. I could hardly follow it and at one point felt a tad feverish and sweaty but that passed quickly. I did take a Tylenol and that helped. By lunch I was feeling better, just a little soreness in my arm and my tinnitus is still pretty loud - tinnitus volume is one of my barometers of my state of health.
Still not 100% but when am I ever so?
All in all, nowhere nearly as rough as the two modernas.
A friend has covid now. She seems okay and posted on her IG about it. Her symptoms are mild. She’s been actively traveling and is vaxxed so it’s a breakthrough. She’s self quarantined at home. A life coach, cross dresser, and sex consultant, we bonded at Cali Roots in the porn shop.

I like to imagine that I’m just surrounded by singing cicadas. It makes the tinnitus less annoying.

I had a wicked case of the chills last night right after I tucked in. Had to burrow deep under my blankets and curl into a fetal position until I passed out. I hate the chills.
As for tinnitus, they say the bodhisattva Guanyin hears all the sorrows of the world. I imagine that’s what my tinnitus is and I don’t feel so bad.

On a related note: When the leaf blowers are outside your window, if you can reimagine that they are chanting Tibetan Monks it can be a much more pleasant experience...
