Stacy signed us up for Paramount+ again knowing it’ll keep me occupied as I dog watch while she’s on safari. I’ve got the new AtlA series and a lot of trek to catch up on.
As for this, well, I didn’t hate it. A lot of the fandom has rejected it. It’s a more adult Aang & team avatar in an hour and a half tale that takes place between the original series & Korra. My complaint was that it went with different voice actors, all except one (and it’s the animals). It tries to be bigger, more cinematic, and while it has some big screen moments, it’s way behind what cutting edge animation is doing. There’s a lot of call backs and Easter eggs, as well as celebrity voice actors like Bautista, Waititi, Quan, Pinto, Yuen, Chieng, & Jeong. The story is ok. The fight choreo is by a friend, Alfred Hsing, who I really should interview soon as he’s been doing a lot of cool work lately; we just missed each other at SDCC this year. Overall I liked it but it falls short of the original series.
Not D00M recommended because none of you were into AtlA so tie all be lost on you.
