John Candy: I Like Me (2025) - Greg - 10-12-2025

Note to self, don't watch million dollar documentaries when working on your own zero dollar budget documentary

First off, I was never a big John Candy. He could be good as support but never as a lead. Good seasoning not the main ingredient. I watched this to see what I might have missed. It had a great cast of talking heads like Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Eugene Levy, Macauley Culkin, Steve Martin, and Catherine O'Hara. Some good remembrances, but ultimately Candy lived kind of a sad life. And he died young. The movie had lots of people crying as they reminisced.

The one story they didn't really cover except for a short bit at the end which I would like to have heard more about was that Maureen O'Hara, who starred with Candy in Only the Lonely said that Candy was her favorite co-star. Really. I would have like to hear more about that.

Culkin acted like he was all wired up.
