Coming 9/12 to the SJ Civic: Beat - thatguy - 04-04-2024 Adrian Belew and Tony Levin joined by Steve Vai, filling in for Robert Fripp on co-guitar and Danny Casey from Tool as Bill Bruford on drums, performing highlights from the 3 80's albums: Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair - the best incarnation of King Crimson in my opinion... I expect it to be pretty awesome. They kick off the tour in San Jose. Tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow (Friday) at 10am. --tg I remember when this aired for the first time on showtime. I must have watched it dozens of times. --tg RE: Coming 9/12 to the SJ Civic: Beat - King Bob - 04-05-2024 TG - I remember you once showed me (and maybe others but I can't remember who) a video of King Crimson in Japan. All I remember is Tony Levin at a shrine or something, towering over the Japanese crowd. I always hated Steve Vai, but he does have the chops to pull it off. I picked up a Tool album at the library sale planning to sell it. I listened to it and while most of it was too metal for me, there was one song I liked; it sounded sort of like Porcupine Tree. They might evolve into a band I like. I remember DM mentioning dealing with trippers at at Tool show. I can't imagine why you'd want to trip there.
