Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Greg - 11-13-2023 Rebel Moon: Child of Fire. December 22 Zach Snyder does his take on Star Wars. I get a strong Seven Samurai vibe from some of the scenes. I am also ready to see this and hope it is good..... RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Drunk Monk - 12-22-2023 Seen. It’s more Battle Beyond the Stars than Seven Samurai (and without Robert Vaugh or Valkyrie that being very generous). The Snyder ‘Star wars’ is a trick. Sucker punched again. Sure, an oppressive empire, battle bots and dingy cluttered ships but we see that is so much sci-fi in the wake of SW it doesn’t even count. When Doona Bae (who I admire) whips out her double light-dadao, that’s as SW as it gets. Then there’s also a lot of hooded cloaks but no Jedi action. It’s very Snyder in its color schemes and visuals. How many times must we see the slo-mo jump with a spear? And if I wanted that much gratuitous slo-mo in the fight scenes, I’d just watch more Bollywood. I was disappointed that the visuals weren’t more on point. It’s just a big rehash. Part 2? Whatev. If I’m drunk enough I’ll watch it. Not D00M recommended says I. Although Greg should watch it since he went to the trouble of starting this thread and I say that with all the earnestly of Lucy holding that football. It is football season, isn’t it? Your move, Charlie Brown… Or maybe wait for the R-rated Snyder cut. That’ll be better, right? And if you end up liking it Greg, you must see Sucker Punch. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - King Bob - 12-22-2023 As I recall, Sucker Punch started out strong, but went to shit pretty quickly, with a completely crap ending. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Drunk Monk - 12-23-2023 Sucker Punch had a great trailer. It went downhill after that. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 12-24-2023 Sucker Punch is the quintessential "Fast-Forward to the Fight Scenes" flick. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Greg - 12-24-2023 Well that was a pretentious piece of crap. After the movie ended, the first thing the Queen said, was you can watch the sequel on your own. It wasn't quite crap, but it sure was pretentious. Does Snyder not know humor exists in the world of film making. It looked like all the sets were part of the same backlot and they only had the one bucket of grey paint to use on the sets. Some of the fights were fine but do you really need to do a speed ramp in every one? I confess the twist did catch me off guard. I thought the film was going to end in a different way but I guess they are saving that for the final. Maybe they can find a few jokes between now and April. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Drunk Monk - 12-24-2023 So you won’t be watching Sucker Punch then? RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Greg - 12-24-2023 I won't even be looking at articles with his name in the lede. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Drunk Monk - 12-25-2023 RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Greg - 12-26-2023 Lest I forget what the world needs more of is Anthony Hopkins, Android Wicker Man. I hope he got paid a lot of money to attach his name to his. Do you have to be named Anthony to play a droid in Space Opera projects? RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Greg - 01-10-2024 Honest Trailers weighs in. They could have been so much harsher. Rebel Moon: Scargiver (2024) - Greg - 03-18-2024 Rebel Moon: Scargiver. April 21 All the louds. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Drunk Monk - 03-18-2024 As much as I disdain Snyder, I’ll probably watch. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Greg - 03-18-2024 Sigh. As will I. You should make it part of your Star Wars watch. RE: Rebel Moon: Child of Fire (2023) - Drunk Monk - 03-18-2024 WTF is wrong with us? I have not eaten any fences in a long time… I deny this as part of my Star Wars watch. I’d rather watch the Ewoks cartoon. |
