Lamb (Paramount/Showtime) - thatguy - 08-19-2023 Lamb http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=3294&pid=49008#pid49008 Noomi and her husband are sheep/potato farmers in extreme rural Iceland. This film is very very slow. Kubrick 2001 pace. There's no dialog for a very long time. There's sheep. There's sheep having babies with the help of the farmers. Noomi pulling lambs from sheep is not as pleasant as it sounds. There's constant ominous music and we're always waiting for something to happen. One day, a lamb is born and they bring it inside their home. It takes a really long time to get there, but there's a reveal and then it takes much longer to resolve. Not in a "good" way. More in a Brothers Grimm kinda way. Not bad, but not particularly recommended. --tg PS: the film is in Icelandic with subtitles, but several times, the subtitles were white on white background, so I couldn't read them. Rewatch the trailer in the link to get the gist. There's a possibility that Lamb was loosely based on the scene from Eraserhead Maybe I was hoping for something with a little more, like |
